  • We are on the journey to transform our digital capabilities, bringing core business processes, people, data & technology together - an enabler for IKEA to become an even better home furnishing retailer in the future. A journey that needs passionate people who embrace change, dare to question and want to make a difference. If that sounds like you, come and join us. Together we can do great things!

    About the area

Inter IKEA Group is organised in three core businesses - Range, Supply and Retail Concept - and five enabling functions. Together we contribute to the success of IKEA and share responsibility for the franchise offer.

The enabling functions lead key common activities in networks across Inter IKEA Group, as well as cover specific needs for the core businesses. The five Enabling functions are Operations Management, Business Performance & Support, Communication, Sustainability and People & Culture.

    About the job

As the Architecture Manager for Technology and Platform you will be accountable for shaping architectural frameworks early in all initiatives and ensuring architecture artefacts remain current and relevant. You will lead a team of Enterprise Architects across the entire value chain, fostering high performance and continuous development. This role requires strong leadership to inspire and empower teams, while collaborating across Inter IKEA and the broader IKEA network to strengthen the franchise offer and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

In addition to team leadership, you will share responsibility for driving the Architecture Roadmap and Strategy Storyboard, positioning strategic topics, and monitoring outputs from architecture strategy scrums. You will also contribute to cross-domain working groups to resolve strategic questions and enhance consistency in business and technology blueprints. A key part of the role involves continuously improving the architecture ways of working (WoW) and delivery frameworks, ensuring a robust and agile architecture practice that supports IKEA’s long-term vision.

    About you

You are passionate about creating value through effective IT and Business Architecture, with a strong belief in technology and digital innovation as enablers of a better everyday life. You thrive on building relationships and networks, acting as a true ambassador of IKEA’s culture and values. With a natural ability to empower others, you enjoy leading high-performing teams and inspiring people to grow and succeed. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong planning and organizational skills help you navigate complex challenges with confidence.

You are a strategic thinker who balances business needs with IT capabilities, and you communicate effectively to gain buy-in across diverse stakeholders. Your experience in driving digital and data-driven transformation equips you to lead through ambiguity and change. You excel at building trust, delegating responsibilities, and guiding teams toward shared goals.

With a deep understanding of both business and technology, you can lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining focus on long-term impact.

To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills and experiences would be valuable:

    • Experience in IT & Business architecture.
    • Architecture modelling expertise and a solid understanding of the underlying business capabilities/processes, applications, and technology.
    • TOGAF Certification is a plus.
    • Good knowledge of the relevant IKEA business processes and strategies and knowledge of the IKEA franchise system, IKEA vision, and IKEA culture and values.
    • Agile and SDLC.
    • Minimum of five years relevant job experience, with at least three in an architecture capacity.
    • Bachelor’s/ University level in computer science, information technology, engineering, or another STEM discipline.
