About the Area 

Inter IKEA Group is organized into three core businesses: Range, Supply, and Retail Concept, along with five enabling functions. Together, we contribute to the success of IKEA and share responsibility for the franchise offer. The enabling functions are Operations Management, Business Performance & Support, Communication, Sustainability, and People & Culture. This job belongs to Operations Management, supporting our digital transformation across all Inter IKEA companies. 

About the Job 

This role involves managing digital engineering capabilities, focusing on ensuring best practices in software engineering, optimizing software quality, and enhancing digital products within IKEA. 

In this role, you will be accountable for managing software engineering capabilities, securing operational excellence, enabling modern and efficient development practices, and leading teams to drive digital transformation. 

You will be responsible for implementing principles, best practices, and structures to guide and support efficient and effective work across all four business capability dimensions (people, process, data, and technology) in the explore, develop, and run phases. 

In this role, you will lead a skilled and high-performing team composed of Software Engineers and Product Specialists. You will inspire and empower coworkers to perform at their highest level and continuously develop their skills and assignments. 

Additionally, you will manage product budgets and forecast financial performance. 

About You  

To be successful in this role, you should have several years of experience in: Leading software engineering teams and driving engineering excellence. 

  • Implementing and maintaining software engineering best practices. 
  • Working in a delivery organization with agile development practices and/or a DevOps setup. 
  • Managing and developing high-performing technical teams. 
  • Delivering and maintaining digital products within a global organization. 
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is essential. 

To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills, and experiences would be valuable: 

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering successful software engineering strategies. 
  • Experience in building trusting relationships and long-term partnerships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment with business goals. 
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, DevOps practices, and agile frameworks. 
  • Deep knowledge of digital technology, digital infrastructure, and IT services. 
  • Ability to develop, lead, and inspire high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex information and communicate it clearly and engagingly. 
  • Hands-on experience with agile development processes and familiarity with tools like Jira.

This role is full-time (40 hours per week) and based in Malmö, Sweden or Delft, the Netherlands.
