    • You are inspired by our vision "to create a better everyday life for the many people” and are able to identify the challenges faced by the different local communities where we are present and develop meaningful ways in which IKEA can empower them.
    • You understand how to transform operations to becoming more climate positive and contribute to a circular society.
    • You have more than 5 years of senior experience (preferably retail market experience) working with strategic sustainability and/or business leadership.
    • You can balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability and how IKEA uses that knowledge in striving to make business within the confines of the planet.
    • You are highly motivated to share information using narratives to build trust, inspire and create an emotional connection to an audience with courage, joy and care.
    • You have a strong aptitude to build and maintain a system of strategic business connections as well as explore new possibilities to activate sales using the sales calendar and relevant activities associated with the store.
    • You are determined to achieve long-term business objectives, champions new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance.
    • You are passionate about sustainability and you know how to analyze (sustainability) data from digital sources to gain insights of IKEA customers for business purposes and decision making.

    A day in your life with us

    • Be generally responsible for the integration and implementation of the sustainability people & planet positive strategy through clearly defined accountabilities within the business and provide the necessary support as a competent business partner, while
    securing local relevance.
    • Be the voice of sustainability, and by understanding consumers in the market, work across the business where decisions are made to set the people & planet positive requirements throughout the organization, empowering others to deliver.
    • Integrate the sustainability agenda across all markets, customer meeting points, stores and units.
    • Secure country adaption of the global direction and ambitions. Develop and continually maintain an outside-in perspective, following and learning about the latest trends and future perspectives.
    • Co-create in the conception, exploration and business case development projects in partnership with Group Sustainability, or when needed, drive country specific development projects.
    • Develop and maintain a culture of performance throughout the organization and act as an effective external and internal spokesperson, participating in advocacy activities, events, networking to empower others (e.g. country and store managers) in
    becoming sustainability ambassadors.
    • Empower and engage all co-workers in creating a new IKEA with sustainability at the core by working together with the sustainability matrix, contributing and sharing key learnings.
    • Lead a team of sustainability business partners and collaborate with key stakeholders to help overcome the challenges of the business with both a growth and purpose driven mind-set.

    The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 117,150 CAD to 175,725 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
