Purpose of the Job
This role leverages a strong understanding of IKEA business priorities, the IKEA range, home furnishing trends, the national market, competition, and customers’ living situations to drive and develop sales across all channels now and into the future. The role leads and inspires the team, collaborates closely with other functions and stores, and ensures maximum sales growth and sustained profitability. It also contributes to global business development by sharing specialist sales knowledge and insights that strengthen IKEA commercially and support the vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
Setting clear goals on sales, profit, margin and volume development for my country – with solid actions plans to support the achievement of these goals.
Lead the Country Commercial Team to execute the Country commercial plan.
Knowing our global priorities, our range, the national market and competition. I use this information to develop, with my team and the store sales manager, strategies for sales. This is based on constant improvement in order to meet the present & future needs of our customers.
using my understanding of the market to drive a sales strategy for the country and setting challenging goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
ensuring my team analyses current trends in order to predict and optimize current and future commercial opportunities. This is achieved by working in co-operation with stores, IKEA of Sweden and the IKEA supply chain.
Communicating the strategies to our Store Sales managers in an inspiring & engaging way to motivate them to take ownership to achieve the goals in their unit.
Maximizing the commercial opportunities through all media and sales channels.
Developing & optimising the range for my Country in connection with my customers’ needs.
Leading the key processes or pricing, sales planning and range dimensioning for my Country.
Developing commercial skills of my team & my store matrix partners through open, constructive two-way communication, feedback & trust with development plans to support this.
Analysing the performance of the business in my country and taking action to correct underperformance as well as optimise, where possible, over performance.
Actively promoting the development and sharing of good examples in our Country & across the region. Using my Global network to find good solutions from other Countries too.
Actively contribute to my Country Management team sharing overall responsibility for the Country performance.
Oversee the process for monitoring and reacting to competitor activity in my Country.
Budgetary control in my function. Monitor, follow-up & adjust as needed.
To drive market share development & IKEA as a first destination for consumers in your market.
