  • IKEA Cardiff are looking to welcome Early Morning Warehouse Operatives to join our hardworking Fulfilment team. Theses are 30-hour a week contracts, and shifts are between the hours of 04:00am to 10:00am in the morning.

    Are you a detail-oriented individual with an interest in logistics? Join our efficient team as a Warehouse Operative, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our store. If you're ready to take on a practical role in a lively warehouse, we want to hear from you!

    Induction date will be Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 December. If successful, it is important that you can attend on both of these dates in order to start work with us.

    Due to health & safety for this role, you must be 18 years of age or older for this role.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • Competitive hourly rate of £12.60 per hour. Additional nightshift allowance of an extra £2.25 an hour for hours worked between 04:00am and 06:00am.
    • 30 hours a week, working 5 days per week (6 hour shifts), including 3 out of 4 weekends. Working hours are between 6am to 8:30pm.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

    • You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the checking of stock, placing it in the correct sales locations across the store.
    • You ideally bring with you relevant warehouse, logistics or order fulfilment experience.
    • You proactively look for tasks to be done and use your initiative to complete them in an efficient and effective manner. Experience operating forklifts (or a desire to do so) is welcomed.
    • You have an adaptable mindset allowing you to switch between different tasks/areas and work within tight time frames.
    • You work with guidance from your manager to achieve set goals in agreed timeframes using standard ways of working.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

    • You will be receiving inbound deliveries that arrive at our store, and moving these to sales locations across the store so that they are ready for customers to shop.
    • You will cross-check paperwork and use our internal systems to ensure the right amount of stock is received and dropped in the right locations for our customers.
    • You will have a willingness to be trained as a First Aid responder as part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
    • There is an opportunity to develop your knowledge and operate forklifts down the line, and so we welcome applications from those with forklift experience, or who wish to learn to operate forklifts.
    • Commit to all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements within your area and actively help colleagues to prevent any incidents involving co-workers, customers, equipment, building and IKEA products.
    • Contribute to optimised daily fulfilment operations by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, applying, and sharing good examples.
    • Manual handling using safety protocols and working with the use of pump trucks.
