    Purpose of function

    The Communication team leads and enables impactful communication to strengthen the IKEA Brand by creating engagement, building trust, and enabling better business.

    Describe this role’s unique contribution in the context of the team and the team’s assignment(s).

    • A Communication Partner supports the leadership of a or several units/areas/functions in achieving their business and people objectives through both internal and external communication.
    • They do this through securing communication flows within and across units, ensuring a strong connection between stakeholders, and developing communication skills in the unit. They also lead projects and topics across units.

     

    Assignment

    • Contribute to the implementation of business strategies, priorities, and processes through communication.
    • Provide communication expertise (including in specialised areas like change communication) to managers and co-workers. Support them in continuously developing their communication skills.
    • Enable an engaging, inspiring, and inclusive co-worker experience, together with People & Culture co-workers.
    • Enable change through communication with the appropriate methodologies, planning, execution and activation of communication.
    • Secure effective communication flows, aligned with the IKEA network, to defined target groups within and outside the unit. Consciously share information and ensure that the right information reaches the right people at the right time.
    • Define and plan simple, clear, and inspiring communication content.
    • Lead and coordinate assigned communication topics and/or projects across businesses, in line with common agendas and aligned ways of working.
    • Operate the internal communication landscape within and across units, securing common guidelines and an overall core business approach.
    • Contribute to the overall communication plan by representing the business and contributing with inspiring content.
    • Ensure that managers and co-workers lead with communication and have access to relevant and updated information, tools, and templates. Act as the visual, verbal, and written communication expert in the unit, and create communication that reflects this. 

    Qualification

    Knowledge

    • Good understanding of working with communication planning and execution, and an understanding of how communication supports and increases the impact of a business agenda
    • Good understanding of how to work with stakeholder mapping and segmentation, in addition to creating target group-specific communication
    • Great working knowledge of the IKEA identity, tone of voice, core values, and vision to secure the right representation
    • Knowledge of the IKEA coaching methodology (tools and techniques)
    • Knowledge and understanding of how to facilitate and deliver a good presentation
    • Fluent in written and spoken English
