  • What you'll need to have

    In the carpentry department at IKEA, you will support the communication and interior design team in ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in various areas such as carpentry and painting work, floor laying, as well as assembling furniture and product carriers.
    In this way, you will contribute directly to our customers' perception of the IKEA brand and the store as a high-quality and affordable furnishing specialist.

    • You have technical and carpentry skills and preferably have the relevant professional experience.
    • You are characterised by your strong visual skills and have a keen eye for aesthetics.
    • You have a passion for home furnishings, design, the retail trade and shaping people's lives at home.
    • You prioritise easily and are able to organise your own work so that you can use the time available as efficiently as possible and meet agreed deadlines.
    • You have good PC skills, speak German and can also communicate in English.

    You are required to work shifts Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm

    What you'll be doing day to day

    • Support the Communication & Interior Design team in the presentation and communication of the IKEA product range by proactively contributing your knowledge of the home, the presentation of the product range and the guidelines of IKEA's visual identity.
    • Prioritise and organise your work to meet the needs and expectations of our customers while minimising disruption to the store caused by work.
    • Ensure high quality, simplicity and cost consciousness in the execution of work by applying best practices and following routines.
    • Implementing the agreed communication and design plan with a focus on urgency and having an eye for detail to ensure the Creating a strong visual impact in the store.
    • Be aware of safety in the workplace at all times and act quickly in the event of incidents.
    • Planning and ordering materials and resources whilst ensuring costs are correct and agreed.
    • Thinking sustainably and minimising costs through conscious use of resources and maximising opportunities to recycle and reuse materials.
