    Ingka Centres and IKEA India continue to undertake a major capital works development programme across our markets consisting of IKEA stores and Shopping Centres, which in this case will include components of an IKEA Store, retail units, connections to infrastructure, commercial mixed use office space and hotels. Within the Noida Meeting Place project an opportunity has been identified for a Development Project Leader (DPL) to take responsibility and support in a senior position one of our major investment developments in India.

    You will work for and support the Development Project Manager to ensure that the project is driven and steered from design through to opening, with responsibilities for project facets including adherence to the investment request, stakeholder alignment, reporting, design, risk, procurement, change, statutory, program, cost and quality.

    You will work effectively and provide leadership capabilities with the Noida Meeting Place project based team, with internal and external stakeholders. You are expected to be the example and motivation from an Employer/Client perspective to the whole delivery function.

    You take a hands on approach, from “site to meeting room,” and act as an ambassador to the project and brand at all times. You understand and adapt to different cultural balances, provide clear and concise direction, and remain sensitive to local needs and customs while setting and following up on goals. This is a large and important role in a new market and will be a key part of the overall leadership and delivery of a significant investment and Ingka Centres Development & Expansion future growth.


    Additionally, you bring:
    • Experience monitoring and ensuring adherence to development briefs and the Final Investment Request (FIR).
    • Ability to support the PDM with high quality documentation, reporting, updating, and preparing decision material for steering committees, reporting forums and Boards.
    • Experience supporting procurement and management of external Consultants and Project Management.
    • Coordination and interface experience with IKEA Real Estate, leasing, operations, risk, facilities, sustainability, communications, public affairs, permits and all other relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Understanding of and involvement in Budget, Change Management, Value Management, Value Engineering and Risk Management.
    • Experience leading the risk management process with workshops, risk identification, maintaining a risk register, and communication with Business Risk & Compliance (BR&C).
    • Active involvement in Construction Management, programming, sequencing and mitigation planning.
    • Ability to interface and coordinate with leasing and tenancy coordination teams and support their delivery.
    • Experience leading the development and monitoring of overall Project Goals, including workshops, assessing SMART, forming the Goals schedule and tracking within the Financial Year.
    • Experience with contract close out, lessons learnt and mentoring.
    • Ability to support the PDM with management and communication to visitors (all levels of the business), meetings, dinners, trips and events.

    A day in your life with us

    In this role you will protect our investment and ensure successful delivery of the new Mixed Use Development. The principal roles and responsibilities include supporting the Development Project Manager and working across reporting, design, risk, procurement, change, statutory processes, programme, cost and quality. You are expected to take a hands on approach and maintain close contact with all ongoing project activities.

    A typical day might involve:
    • Working effectively with the Noida Meeting Place project based team and internal/external stakeholders.
    • Being the example and motivation from an Employer/Client perspective.
    • Monitoring and adherence to the development brief and FIR.
    • Supporting the PDM with documentation, reporting and preparing materials for steering committees, reporting forums and Boards.
    • Supporting procurement and managing external consultants and project management.
    • Coordinating with IKEA Real Estate, leasing, operations, risk, facilities, sustainability, communications, public affairs, permits and other internal stakeholders.
    • Ensuring Budget, Change Management, Value Management, Value Engineering and Risk Management are considered and implemented.
    • Leading risk management workshops, risk identification, maintaining the risk register and working with BR&C.
    • Supporting Construction Management, programming, sequencing, mitigations and exploring options to improve delivery.
    • Interfacing with leasing and tenancy coordination teams, aligning goals and supporting delivery.
    • Leading the development and monitoring of Project Goals across all functions.
    • Supporting contract close out, lessons learnt and mentoring.
    • Supporting the PDM in managing all types of business visitors and overall visit experience.

    This role belongs to Expansion & Development team. The purpose of this team is to generate revenue and growth of new and current Meeting Places while also collaborating with IKEA Retail, the Ingka Group and external contractors with the goal of delivering the needs of customers and local communities within the locations they operate.
