  • We’re on a mission to make digital a seamless part of the IKEA experience. As the local business partner for Country Digital Technology, you’ll work hand in hand with both Ingka Group Digital and Ingka Retail, to deliver reliable, robust, and efficient digital products and platforms. Your role is all about ensuring technology supports our business processes and enhances the shopping experience for customers and co-workers alike. By driving excellence in digital solutions, you’ll help IKEA grow and create an even better everyday life for the many people. In this fulltime position you will be based at our Service Office.

A day in your life with us

You’ll bring our global Information Security and Data Privacy strategy to life for the Netherlands. That means embedding Security and Privacy by Design into everyday business, building a culture of awareness, and ensuring compliance with local laws.
You’ll lead incident management, guide teams on privacy issues, manage suppliers, and keep our data safe. Staying ahead of trends and legislation, you’ll make sure we protect what matters most—our customers, co-workers, and their trust. What else you will do:
    • Be the speaking partner to the business for day-to-day Data Privacy issues, to secure compliance with our steering documents and local Data Privacy legislation, aligning with the ‘Security and Privacy by Design’ concept.
    • Manage local suppliers in the full lifecycle of activity from a Data Privacy and Information Security perspective, from selection through to contracts and continuous measurement activities.

    Our team within IKEA

It’s hard to imagine, but IKEA started out as a small mail-order business in Älmhult, a village in the Swedish countryside. It can now be found in 63 countries offering a unique range of products. Working at IKEA means working in a world of ideas. A world that is described by our own colleagues as a workplace where everyone is welcome and you can be yourself. Where together we make a difference for the many people and the planet. But also a workplace where you determine your own career steps and where there is plenty of room for your practical creativity and ideas. And all this while working in a nice team with colleagues who are always there for you and support you when needed.

The role will be one of the two local business partners responsible for the Information Security and Data Privacy within Digital, while working as a seamless part of the global Ingka Group Digital organization. You will report to the Country Digital Manager.
The local Digital team also comprises Data Management, Service Operations, and Digital Portfolio management, all functions which you will closely collaborate with.

    • You’re a great communicator who can turn complex security and privacy topics into clear, practical messages that everyone understands.
    • You know Dutch laws and regulations inside out—speaking Dutch is a big plus.
    • You have at least 5 years of experience in IT Security, with a strong grasp of security controls and how they reduce risk.
    • You’ve led teams and driven change for at least 5 years in complex organizations.
    • You’re confident with industry standards like ISO 27001 and NIST, and you understand GDPR and the controls needed to stay compliant.
    • You can influence and inspire stakeholders, showing how Data Privacy and strong security add real business value.
    • Your background in Information Security—and ideally some experience in IT—gives you the expertise to make a difference.

    • A collective bonus scheme. This is determined annually and amounts to a maximum of 150% of your gross monthly salary.
    • Travel expenses for public transport are reimbursed 100%. Do you live within a radius of 5 to 20 km from the IKEA store? Then you can also opt for a lease bicycle. Are you traveling by car? Then you will receive a travel allowance up to a maximum of 243 euros per month.
