    Who you are

    As IKEA Key Account Manager, you are or have:
    • Proven experience (3-5 years minimum) in key account management or senior business development, or B2B sales, ideally within commercial, retail, or service-based industries.
    • A track record of managing large-scale client relationships and delivering tailored solutions that drive mutual success.
    • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to navigate negotiations, influence stakeholders, and close high-impact deals.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels of the business.
    • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver outstanding results.
    • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving market, and able to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to problem-solving.
    • Motivated by increasing customer value and thinking customer first, ensuring every solution is aligned and exceeds their vision.

    About this work area

    As IKEA Key Account Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind some of our most significant business relationships. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Lead the acquisition and growth of key business clients by targeting corporate sectors with office solution needs, while also building long-term partnerships across key industries such as hospitality, early childhood education & care services, residential development, and commercial real estate.
    • Manage high-value client portfolios, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored furnishing solutions that align with their vision and our brand.
    • Respond to major project tenders, Request for Proposal (RFPs) with compelling, competitive proposals, collaborating with internal teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that include products, services, and design.
    • Negotiate commercial terms and close deals that balance customer needs with business goals, ensuring seamless execution and ongoing satisfaction.
    • Represent IKEA at trade shows and industry events, staying connected to market trends and identifying new opportunities for growth.

    What you need to know

    • This role is permanent, full-time (hybrid)
    • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (occasional after-hours for events)
    • Work locations include IKEA Sylvia Park and our External Warehouse in Māngere.
    • Mobility: A valid full New Zealand driver’s license is required for customer visits, trade shows, and willingness to travel.
    • Pre-employment checks: Final candidates will be required to complete Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Children’s Worker Safety Checks.
    • A leave blackout applies during December and January due to our store opening—no leave will be approved during this period.
    • IKEA is a non-smoking workplace.
