For this role we believe you have:
• 10 years industry experience in Custom clearance role. • 5 years leading a function and people managers in past assignment. • Experienced in collaboration with external stakeholders, including Government Organizations to collaborate and develop the trade compliance. • Excellent analytical and communication skills. • Fluency in oral and written English a must. • Project management experience. • Strong Sense of integrity and high ethical standards • Strong knowledge of Customs and Allied Regulations governing import / export of IKEA products. • Knowledge on customs provisions available to address disputes with Customs Authorities. • Good understanding of Supply Chain Setup and functions. • Experienced in collaborating with external governmental agencies. • Adept at setting budgets and monitoring costs. • Experienced in leading people leader • Inspired by IKEA Vision, Values and Culture • Passionate about Supply Chain and Logistics • Growth mindset • Driven to take decisions in the unknown • Agile in decision making and review of impact of decisions.
Your responsibilities
Lead the country Customs team to manage the business operations in a compliant and cost effective manner. To secure involvement in the supply chain developments for the future business needs and steer the function. To secure the team delivers to country business strategies by developing the business and people together.
• Develop the Customs function to meet future expansion needs as per Market growth plans and secure process optimization to reduce operations cost per unit. • Create internal network of stakeholder functions to secure robust internal controls are in place to ensure we have all necessary documentation in place before placing orders. • Collaborate with Government authorities for Customs Clearance processes and build strong partnerships to secure expedited clearances. • Develop the IT landscape for the function to make it Fit for Future business needs. • Create routines with stakeholder functions to reduce delays and costs associated with custom clearances. • Create awareness for the country management regarding the risks and controls in place to mitigate risks. • Evaluate internal process for improvement and efficiency and initiate projects to implement them. • Secure Working Methods and Working Routines are documented for all activities and review periodically. • Initiate internal audit process with regards to customs operations. • Set up Initiate Audit process for receiving units with based on Customs Authorities Audit Guideline from time to time
Together as a team
To collaborate with stakeholders to secure compliance to all customs regulations for all imports by the company. Also responsible for handling all customs documentation and interactions with government authorities as part of custom clearance process. Finally to handle logistics to secure lowest operational costs and fastest availability.
