    In Category Area Transport we are responsible for procuring, develop and operating all transport capacities in the IKEA Supply Chain. Category Area Transport is a Category area with two categories – Category Land and Category Ocean & Air.


    Job description

    As a Service Provider Operations Developer in Category Ocean & Air you:

    • Lead, develop and secure the operational set up within your assigned region (North Europe & Americas)
    • Establish and maintain a close collaboration with the different IKEA transport teams, Control Tower and nominated ocean carriers.
    • Operational leadership towards defined carriers for the entire region
    • Owning (measure, follow up, tackle) the operational performance both from sending and receiving perspective within your assessment
    • Secure the demands and manage the carrier capacity offered to IKEA
    • Maintain system set-ups to enable the booking of the ocean carriers for export and import to / from the assigned countries, securing correctness and maintaining the information in IKEA systems (LBD, ITM).
    • Lead tender related sub-processes about matrix, network (e.g. port pairs) as well as ensure operational requirements are secured.
    • Lead and coordinate the tender implementation activities in the assigned region with all internal and external stakeholders to enable a smooth transition from the old to the new ocean year
    • Develop the business with your trade lane and local operational knowledge. Seek for E2E improvement areas and implement such from start to end.

    This position has a truly international dimension as you will have daily interaction with the other Service Provider Operations Developers in EU, Asia Pacific and Americas, other European Supply Chain Operations locations and various other internal and external stakeholders.


    Qualification

    About you
    We are looking for you if you have/are:

    • an operations expert in supply chain with a track record in leading/driving operational excellence
    • a proven background in the area of ocean shipping and/or freight forwarding, customs background is a plus/ advantage
    • a university degree, or an equivalent education, within Logistics, economics or business administration
    • a minimum 5 years work experience in transport business or supply chain function.
    • knowledge about Microsoft Office literacy (Excel, Access) 
    • fluent in English, both written and verbal, are a prerequisite.

    • self-motivated, self-driven and have the ability to organize, structure and prioritize numerous tasks by yourself.
