You will define and lead the product and technology strategies for the Operations Center, ensuring the reliability and availability of critical digital services. By combining technical expertise and strategic foresight, you will help us move from reactive to proactive to preventive operations where observability and standardised ways of working will safeguard our core business and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities
• Oversee solution design/architecture, operations, and support to ensure holistic, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Lead engineering initiatives, fostering collaboration across teams and strategic partners.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and compliance for all products and services.
• Drive adoption of modern technologies, design patterns, and efficient engineering practices.
• Act as a technical ambassador, sharing insights and best practices internally and externally.

• Extensive experience with observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Catchpoint etc), cloud platforms (GCP or similar), automation, and infrastructure technologies.
• Good understanding of Data lakes, Data mesh and similar concepts.
• Extensive experience of ServiceNow.
• Strong background in backend (Java/Spring Boot), frontend (React/Node.js), and DevOps environments.
• Leadership experience in large-scale, agile product development and delivery.
• Proven ability to influence, inspire, and lead change in complex organizations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

As Lead System Engineer, you will facilitate engineering alignment across the unit, by promoting modern software engineering principles, fostering technical synergies across engineering teams, including strategic partner, and service areas as well as leading the architecture and implementation of engineering initiatives at unit level.

As a Lead System Engineer, you will unite engineering teams under a common vision, ensuring technical alignment and operational excellence. Amongst other things, you will:
• Lead security and resilience efforts, embedding "security by design" principles.
• Collaborate with Technology and Enterprise Architecture to align solutions with IKEA’s broader digital ecosystem.
• Drive continuous evaluation, benchmarking, and improvement of our digital landscape.
• Mentor and onboard new engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and learning.

This role will be based in Helsingborg, Sweden, and will report to the Service Manager of Operations Center. It is expected that this role requires some travel between the different Digital Hubs.
In this recruitment there is no relocation support provided by Ingka, hence we are looking for people already living in or within commuting distance of the mentioned location.
