  • Why we will love you

Do you enjoy tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced, global environment? At IKEA, our Connectivity Services team plays a crucial role in our digital transformation, ensuring seamless communication across systems to support our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency within our global network landscape. Working alongside a team of dedicated engineers, you’ll design and implement secure, reliable, and automated solutions that lay the foundation for IKEA’s digital future. If you’re passionate about automation, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative, value-driven environment, this is the role for you!

What you'll be doing day to day

    • Develop and implement network automation using Python and tools like Ansible and AWX to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
    • Drive end-to-end automation initiatives, ensuring services meet business goals and operational standards.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to streamline service delivery and accelerate time-to-market.
    • Lead by example in advanced network automation practices, enabling colleagues to adopt best-in-class techniques.
    • Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement automated solutions where appropriate.
    • Contribute to technical roadmaps and align automation efforts with stakeholders across teams and business units.

    You ideally have

    • Strong expertise in network automation with Ansible and Python
    • Extensive experience working with large-scale enterprise networks
    • Solid skills in AWX/Red Hat Automation Platform and API automation
    • Proficiency in Linux system administration
    • Hands-on experience with Git and version control
    • Practical experience with CI/CD toolchains and familiarity with Kubernetes/containers
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working across countries/functions
    • Proactive mindset aligned with IKEA’s values of togetherness, simplicity, and creating a better everyday life

    Together as a team

The Connectivity Services team is a small, autonomous group of six engineers. In this role, you’ll collaborate across IKEA’s connectivity landscape, helping design and implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability. You’ll work closely with colleagues to tackle challenges, share expertise, and deliver forward-thinking solutions that make a real impact. At IKEA, togetherness is key — we combine our skills and passion to create meaningful results for our global network.

    Questions and support? Let's connect!

This role is based in Helsingborg or Älmhult, Sweden, and you will report to the Engineering Manager of the Connectivity Services team.

In this recruitment there is no relocation support provided by IKEA, hence we're looking for people already living in the mentioned location.

In line with our value of togetherness we believe the best way for us to collaborate and co-create is when we meet in the office. This is why we expect you to spend the majority of time in the office.

If you have any questions about the recruitment process, please reach out to Tech Recruiter Ashurina Aorahim at ashurina.aorahim@ingka.com. We are interviewing continuously and look forward to hearing from you!
