  • Why we will love you

You are excited by the opportunity to shape Ingka’s next-generation digital landscape. You see data, AI and automation as connected capabilities that enable better customer and co-worker experiences, smarter decisions, more efficient operations and a more affordable, sustainable IKEA.

You combine strategic, enterprise-wide thinking with a practical ability to turn architecture into action. You can define a clear target state while enabling teams through reusable patterns, platforms, principles and guardrails.

You bring deep experience in enterprise data architecture, complemented by strong knowledge of AI and process automation. You understand how to build trusted and reusable data foundations, scale AI from experimentation into products and processes, and enable responsible automation across the enterprise.

You thrive in change, build trust with senior stakeholders and create clarity in complex decisions. You are curious about emerging technologies including Generative and Agentic AI and are motivated to ensure that innovation is secure, responsible, scalable and sustainable. You share and live the IKEA culture and values.

    Your responsibilities

As Enterprise Architect – Data, AI & Automation, you will shape the architecture that enables Ingka to become increasingly data-centric, AI-enabled and intelligently automated.

You will define the strategic direction, target architecture, principles, reference architectures and roadmaps for Enterprise Data, AI and Process Automation. You will work across business and technology to create the shared foundations that allow teams to build trusted data products, scale responsible AI and automate meaningful end-to-end experiences and processes.

As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will make decisions for the benefit of the totality connecting short-term delivery needs with long-term enterprise direction and ensuring that Ingka’s digital landscape remains coherent, scalable and ready for what comes next.

    In this role, you will
    • Define and evolve Ingka’s target architecture and strategic roadmap for Enterprise Data, AI and Automation, connecting enterprise priorities to clear architecture choices and transition plans.
    • Shape the shared data, AI and automation foundations that enable teams across Ingka to build, reuse and scale digital capabilities with speed and confidence.
    • Establish enterprise reference architectures, principles, standards and guardrails for trusted data, data products, interoperability, AI platforms, model lifecycle management, AI-enabled products and intelligent process automation.
    • Drive the evolution of Enterprise AI Architecture, enabling the responsible adoption of generative AI, machine learning, AI agents and decisioning capabilities across Ingka.
    • Ensure that AI solutions are designed with appropriate governance, transparency, human oversight, security, privacy, data quality, evaluation, monitoring and lifecycle management. This supports the market direction toward trustworthy AI and aligns with the objectives of the compliances across multiple markets where Ingka operates.
    • Partner with senior business, digital, data, AI and engineering leaders to shape strategic priorities and investment decisions, balancing customer and co-worker value, business outcomes, risk, cost and architectural sustainability.
    • Work with data owners, stewards, product teams and engineers to enable trusted, discoverable and reusable data products, models, contracts and interfaces across the enterprise.
    • Define reusable automation and process intelligence patterns that connect platforms, products and business processes enabling workflow automation, process mining, AI-assisted decisioning and continuous process improvement at scale.
    • Guide and assure architecture in major initiatives and landscape changes, identifying design gaps, dependencies and risks, and recommending pragmatic improvements.
    • Shape the enterprise architecture for process intelligence and automation, enabling the use of process

You bring the following capabilities and experience
    • Ability to connect business strategy with Data, AI and Automation architecture, defining a clear target state, transition roadmap and measurable outcomes.
    • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and investment decisions, making enterprise-wide dependencies, risks and trade-offs visible.
    • Strong expertise in modern data architecture, including data products, data models, data contracts, metadata, interoperability, governance and self-service data capabilities.
    • Experience shaping AI architecture across the full lifecycle from data and model development to deployment, monitoring, evaluation, governance and continuous improvement.
    • Understanding of modern AI capabilities, including generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, decision intelligence and AI-enabled experiences.
    • Experience defining scalable patterns for process automation, workflow orchestration, intelligent automation, decision automation and integration across end-to-end business processes.
    • Ability to establish reusable platforms, common building blocks and architecture guardrails that enable product teams to innovate quickly while reducing duplication and technical debt.
    • Experience balancing innovation, business value, security, privacy, compliance, responsible AI and operational resilience in architecture decisions.
    • Ability to resolve complex cross-domain architecture challenges, guide significant landscape changes and simplify legacy environments over time.
    • A collaborative leadership style, with experience coaching architects, engineers and specialists and strengthening architecture practices across an organisation.

Additionally, you are a strong collaborator and architecture leader who can create a common purpose with diverse senior stakeholders. You combine technical depth with an enterprise mindset, making decisions for the benefit of the total architecture rather than individual solutions. You actively acquire new knowledge, champion new methods and encourage continuous improvement. Experience in a digital retail or omnichannel environment is an advantage.
