In this 36-40 hour position, you will create a working environment where IKEA's values really come to life. And you'll do so in the same corporate clothing as the employees in the shop. You will deal with questions such as: how do we ensure good employee development and a pleasant working environment? Because you also work shifts in the shop every week, you know exactly what is going on on the shop floor.
A day in your life with us

About this work area
Can you imagine? IKEA once started as a small mail-order company in Älmhult, a Swedish village in the countryside. Today, you can find us in 63 countries with a unique range of products. Working at IKEA means working in a world of ideas. A world described by our own colleagues as a workplace where everyone is welcome and you can be yourself. Where together we make a difference for as many people and the planet as possible. But also a workplace where you determine your own career steps and where there is plenty of room for your practical creativity and ideas. And all that while working in a nice team with colleagues who are always ready to help you when needed.
You work for the People & Culture department. This department is responsible for monitoring and promoting IKEA's unique values. And you play an important role in this as a driver in a team of 5-7 specialists. We use our specialist expertise to work efficiently and are well informed about each other's work. The atmosphere within our team is open, transparent and with room to ask critical questions.
Or as your future colleague Michaja, people & culture generalist, puts it, ‘IKEA is a flat organisation, which means that in this role you will be closely involved in the sustainable development of our employees in the unit and you can actively support them in their well-being.’
At IKEA, we think it's important that you can be yourself. You ask critical questions to identify problems and work on effective solutions. Coming up with a strategy to improve our processes and achieve our long-term goals? That is what you go for. Here, it is important that you can put yourself in the shoes of both management and employees. You also realise that you work in a changeable retail environment. Things sometimes go differently than planned. A flexible attitude, good time management and setting priorities are therefore important in your role. What else you need:
- hbo-work and thinking level, for example by completing a hbo education in the field of HR or by relevant work experience. - at least 3 years' work experience in a similar role within the HR field. - good communication skills in Dutch and English. - the motivation to also work evenings and sometimes weekends - living in the Netherlands, preferably in the Amsterdam area
Goed voor de aarde en goed voor jou
