I’m Jose Carlos and I am the Product Engineering Manager in the delicious area of Food Digital at IKEA Group Digital. In our area we take care of all the digital tools and experiences that both our customers and our coworkers use when they enjoy any of our food journeys (of course, across both physical and digital channels).
To ensure that we succeed with our vision, to create a better everyday life for the many people, we need brilliant minds and talents from all our job families (Data, Product, Design and last, but not least, Engineering). With this job ad, I hope to spark the interest of YOU, a curious and knowledgeable software engineering manager with great leader capabilities and the willpower to challenge and grow in an amazing and vibrant area.
About the team and role
You will be leading a team of software engineers, both internal and external, and have the responsibility for one of the Food Digital teams building the best user experience for either our customers or our coworkers (together with our Product, Data and Design colleagues, of course). Our scope includes not only the tools used inside the Food areas in the store but also the different online channels where we want to position IKEA Food, encompassing a set of both built-in and sourced solutions. You will also own the responsibility of budget, team composition, growth, and supporting your coworkers on their journey. Of course, you will be very close to engineering and tech, and we’ll also rely on your insights and experience into building digital products solving our user needs whilst adding value for IKEA.
Why we will love you
You share our vision of becoming the world’s leading omnichannel home furnishing retailer, and you believe good software is an essential ingredient in achieving that vision. Your leadership style is inclusive and empowering, marked by a commitment to developing others and promoting a culture of continuous learning. You have a curious nature and actively acquire new knowledge where communication is key. Communication, for you, is not just a skill but a means of fostering collaboration and alignment across teams and stakeholders
You navigate complex environments with agility and have a strong DevOps mentality to develop scalable solutions, able to run our global operations 24/7. Your ability to drive innovation and lead a team through technological transformation is central to our digital strategy. You continuously push for improvements in quality. You see an ever-changing environment as a constant flow of opportunities and learning.
We are looking for someone who is not just a technical expert but a visionary leader passionate about using technology to enhance user experience and drive business growth with measurable outcomes across many different touchpoints.
If this sounds like you, we would be delighted to have you join our team.
