Job description
Your new job
As our Sustainability Manager, you’ll lead a team of true experts and together with the team drive the sustainability agenda across IKEA Industry. You will not only lead a team with direct reports but also matrix leadership for the sustainability teams across IKEA Industry sites.
Your mission is to integrate sustainability and health & safety into everything we do, and inspiring continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with our factories and stakeholders across the IKEA value chain to make sustainability a natural part of our business.
On a typical day, you will:
- Lead and develop the central sustainability team towards excellence
- Initiate and drive strategic sustainability initiatives across all IKEA Industry units
- Secure common standards and ways of working in health & safety and sustainability
- Act as point of contact for sustainability topics across IKEA organizations
- Track progress, analyse data, setting and anchoring ambitious goals
- Represent IKEA Industry in forums and contribute to sustainability reporting
Qualification
What we’d like you to bring to the table
- Be an experienced leader who inspires, develops, and empowers others
- Have a strong background in sustainability and health & safety
- Ability to navigate shop-floor realities and engage with local factory teams
- Strength in stakeholder management and influencing across functions
- Bring experience from manufacturing and feel at home in a factory environment
- Communicate clearly and make complex topics simple
- Be fluent in business English
It’s a plus if you also:
- Have experience in compliance frameworks and operational excellence
- Bring strong analytical and project management skills
