    Job description

    We are seeking a Platform Engineer Leader to manage the complexities and demands of continuous development requests and priorities within an Oracle-based environment: the IKEA Oracle Transport Management Platform.

     

    In this role, you will lead and manage the development team to effectively deliver high-quality results, thereby generating value for the business.

     

    We expect you to enhance coordination and efficiency across the Digital Product and Platform teams, striving for continuous improvement in our current Ways of Working while ensuring quality and mitigating risks.

     

    More specifically, in this role you will be covering following topics:

    • Team Leadership:
      • Leading a team of developers, engineers, or other technical staff.
      • Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
      • Conducting performance reviews and facilitating career development for team members.
      • Managing project resources, budgets, and risks.
    • Technical Oversight:
      • Ensuring the technical quality and integrity of the projects.
      • Reviewing and approving technical designs, architecture, and code.
      • Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices.
    • Stakeholder Communication:
      • Acting as a liaison between the development team and other stakeholders (e.g. Architects, Digital Products, other platform teams).
      • Communicating backlog progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.
    • Process Improvement:
      • Identifying inefficiencies in current processes and making recommendations for improvements in collaboration with the Agile Delivery Lead.
      • Enable the move to DevOps teams to optimize lifecycle delivery
      • Implementing new development methodologies and tools to enhance productivity and quality.
    • Planning:
      • Contributing to the planning of the platform’s technical activities.
      • Aligning team goals with Digital Product and Platform objectives and strategies.
    • Problem Resolution:
      • Addressing and resolving technical issues and conflicts that arise within the team.
      • Ensuring that team is aligned and connected cross functionally
    • Quality Assurance:
      • Overseeing testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the final products meet the required standards.
      • Implementing and monitoring best practices for code and product quality.

    Qualification

    To be successful in this job you have:

    Technical skills:

    • Deep knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, SQL, C and C+, etc.).
    • Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
    • Experience with development tools and technologies
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., JIRA).
    • Ability to create and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Familiarity with risk management and mitigation.
    • Ability to design and review system architecture.
    • Expertise in conducting thorough code reviews.
    • Familiarity with software testing methods and tools (e.g., unit testing)
    • Understanding of databases, SQL, and data modeling.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
    • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
    • Ability to produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

    In this role you will report to our Platform Manager within Supply Data & technology.
