    We’re looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Customer Returns team at IKEA. Imagine telling future generations that every return processed worldwide runs through the code you helped build.

    As we move toward a more digital future, our subdomain is laying the foundation and we need your expertise to shape it. You’ll build intuitive interfaces, integrate systems, and continuously measure impact for both customers and co-workers. You’ll be involved in the full DevOps cycle: from understanding the problem to designing, delivering, testing, and running solutions in production.

    You care deeply about user experience, making our products feel fast, consistent, and reliable. You apply solid engineering principles like SOLID and DRY, value simplicity, and promote good practices across teams. You support and guide fellow developers, helping to set shared standards and foster collaboration.

    Curious and forward-thinking, you explore new tools and technologies to drive innovation and productivity. You help identify and automate the right data points to improve both our engineering processes and digital products.

    You bring:
    - 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
    - Proven experience in web development with an Agile/DevOps mindset.
    - Hands-on expertise in technologies like Golang, TypeScript (React), Node.js, Playwright, GCP, GitHub Actions, Terraform, microservices, REST, and event-driven architectures.
    - A track record of building accessible front-end solutions that meet compliance standards and create inclusive experiences.
    - A commitment to writing high-quality code and continuously developing your skills while supporting your team’s growth.
    - The ability to align technology with business needs, ensuring the best possible user experience for our co-workers.

    We focus on the systems used in Customer Support across the globe, from warehouses to support centres. Our mission is to make returns simple and hassle-free through an omnichannel experience: self-service, customer support, and in-store returns.

    We collaborate widely across IKEA’s digital landscape, integrating with many systems and constantly exploring new digital solutions to meet evolving business needs. We’re transforming legacy monoliths into scalable, event-driven architectures, a bold and exciting challenge at global scale.
