IKEA London City are looking to welcome a Carpenter. Working for IKEA London City means you will get to experience the new multi-site way of working, between IKEA Hammersmith and IKEA Oxford Street.

As a Carpenter for IKEA, you will be part of a global brand known for its innovative and stylish designs. WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be: Week beginning 3rd March 2025.
• Starting salary of £29,000 per annum, based on competence and experience.
• 39 Hours working 5 days per week, including occasional weekend working to support the needs of the business.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Qualification in Carpentry NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations/Site Carpentry is essential
• Previous carpentry experience gained in a commercial business, ideally retail fit-out or from exhibition installations, with good attention to detail.
• You are excited about home furnishings, design and how people live, and have the ability to generate new ideas to inspire our customers.
• Proven ability to prioritise and organise your workload in order to make the most efficient use of available time and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
• Clear communication with the ability to explain concepts verbally and with visual interpretation.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Following work briefs agreed with colleagues to implement all store media, such as wall constructions, floor laying, painting and the building of complex furniture installations.
• Planning and ordering materials and resources, ensuring accurate costs are sought and agreed in order to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
• Working with your colleagues to make sure the store is always in excellent shape to inspire our customers.
• Focus on key tasks to meet the needs and expectations of store visitors and minimise disruption when working on the shop floor
• Be conscious of the importance of safety at all times while working on the shop floor and take fast action when safety is compromised.
