You are passionate about sustainability, driving customer loyalty and are committed to driving sustainable practices and sharing this with others. You believe in integrating sustainability into every aspect of our business operations. You have a robust understanding of the needs of the New Zealand people and have a passion to creating a better everyday life for our customers. You take ownership of tasks and have strong capacity to collaborate cross functionally to enhance brand loyalty. In collaboration with stakeholders, you will support with the creation, preparation and implementation of internal and external communication related to sustainability, community engagement and loyalty programs. You are comfortable working with strict deadlines, and you are highly organised, with clear prioritisation skills. You accomplish goals, complete tasks, collaborate effectively with stakeholders and achieve results in a timely and accurate way. Demonstrating good attention to detail and excellent communication skills, you are confident to work both autonomously and in a coordinated fashion to deliver on our sustainability & community engagement agendas. You enjoy working in a vibrant and changing, multidimensional environment and have an appreciation of the mix in strategic, tactical and operational tasks. You demonstrate a passion for finding better ways and identifying improvements. You have a business mindset with the proven ability to build and strengthen key relationships, aligned with our collaborative and inclusive culture. Last but not least you are an IKEA cultures & values ambassador and believe in creating a better everyday life for the many people!
You will have a background in community engagement, loyalty programs and/or communications, with experience in retail environment highly regarded. You have the ability to work the occasional weekend or evenings when required.

About this work area
As a Community Engagement & Sustainability Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop a Community engagement plan, together with the relevant stakeholders.
Supporting the implementation of sustainability, loyalty and community engagement local activities, campaigns, events, public relations and public speaking.
Develop community insights and detailed knowledge of those people living in the market. Establish, maintain & develop long-term relationships with local communities, authorities and other external stakeholders. Identify the key challenges in the local community. Identify how IKEA can be uniquely placed to support the many people.
Actively contribute to the sustainability agenda and take responsibility for the People Planet Positive review, to coordinate others, secure consistent ways or working and secure a successful review.
Become known as the pioneer for sustainability and social responsibility topics in the local market. Engage the members of the communities in defining and driving the sustainability agenda in the market.
Monitor overall performance and achievement towards our sustainability and loyalty goals and secure accurate and timely reporting.
Actively secure competence and knowledge of sustainability and loyalty programs in the wider unit.
Work with internal stakeholders with the Commercial calendar integrating IKEA into the life of local communities. Creating a variety of flexibility events that stimulate frequency of visits. Ensure that this contributes to our brand positioning, brand value, local uniqueness and overall customer experience.
Drive customer loyalty in the unit by implementing existing loyalty programs, increasing acquisition and engagement. Contribute to loyalty communication plan with local insights, events and activities.
Be the ambassador of our brand and values, being aware of how it is perceived in the local market. Using these insights in our marketing and engagement plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential or highly regarded:
• You will have a background in Marketing, Loyalty programs, Communications or event management with experience in retail environment.
• Passion for a more sustainable future and previous experience working with a sustainability agenda is highly regarded.
• Experience delivering and securing Happy Customers through a great community engagement plan, driving visitation, loyalty and engagement within an omnichannel retail landscape.
• Good knowledge of how to interpret data and translate into actions, strong analytics and statistics skills.
• Proven experience delivering and implementing short and long-term action plans and consistently reaching performance goals within the agreed budgets.
• Proven experience leading and delivering a customer first culture and mindset within the market and omnichannel retail landscape.
• Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.
What you need to know
• This role is permanent full time.
• The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park and external warehouse.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the flexibility to work weekends when there are events or community engagement activities planned.
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
