  • Who you are
    We are looking for you who is an experienced leader who can help grow our bedroom department. It is your responsibility to optimize performance while leading a strong team that excels in customer service.

    You are an inspiring and passionate leader who has the desire to develop people, create a good foundation for sustainable growth in our market, and enjoy working in a fast-paced operational environment.

    To succeed in this assignment, you will create togetherness; build strong relationships, collaborate, and co-create with your many colleagues. You can communicate confidently and clearly in English and have experience working with others, setting priorities, delegating responsibility, and giving open and honest feedback.

    What you'll need to have;
    • Experience in leading the business through people by demonstrating high leadership capabilities.
    • We need you to have experience in leading your team through engagement, conversation, and coaching.
    • Your leadership is based on performing and delivering while learning and developing, and you have experience in yearly development talks.
    • Having an eye for details and making things happen by championing flexibility, speed, and simplicity.
    • The right attitude and behavior to sell actively and help customers buy.
    • Having good analytics skills and finding pleasure and excitement in analyzing sales numbers, making the right budget, and executing plans to help your department grow.
    What you'll be doing day to day
    • You have the main responsibility for making sure that the bedroom department delivers on its determined sales goals. You will have a mix of office time and on the shopping floor.
    • Make sure you have the right motivated team with the right skills, who work in an optimized schedule and ensure that the individual colleague is passionate and inspired.
    • Developing and coaching your team to run a smooth operation, exceed customer expectations, and have a great team spirit.
    • Securing that the department looks nice and clean every morning, every day.
    • Working together with multiple functions, mostly Logistics and Com-In (Home Furnishing and retail Design) to secure commerciality in your department and the store overall.
    • On some days, you will have overall responsibility for all sales areas and not just Bedrooms and Children's IKEA, ensuring staffing in all departments and being the first line of contact regarding questions and decisions during the day.

    We are the ones meeting our customers in our stores, online, in our catalogue, and beyond. We know the IKEA product range, local markets, and customer needs, and we constantly find new ways of making real connections with our customers to maximize sales and profitability.

    You will join a team of 10 shopkeepers and 1 Sales Manager, who is your daily leader. You will have 20+ strong and dedicated coworkers in your team, all with a desire and passion for IKEA, our products, and certainly also our customers.

    Other information
    • The position is full-time (37+ hours per week) under a salaried contract, where additional and overtime work is included in the salary.
    • Working hours are scheduled between 08:00-20:00, Monday to Sunday, with weekend shifts every 2nd or 3rd weekend.
    • You will be part of a rotating shift schedule, including both staffing and responsibility hours. Additionally, you will plan your working hours according to the business needs.
    • Salary based on qualifications and following IKEA’s salary policy.
