  • What you'll need to have


    • Plan, implement, and optimize payment and checkout solutions tailored to customer needs and market trends in Japan
    • Analyze the performance of existing payment systems, identify issues, propose improvements, and lead their implementation
    • Drive payment-related projects by collaborating with global and local stakeholders (e.g., digital teams, stores, financial institutions, payment service providers)
    • Monitor industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements, and provide relevant reporting
    • Share payment and checkout expertise internally to help other departments deepen their understanding
    • Ensure stable operation of payment systems and provide smooth checkout experiences in both physical stores and online channels

    Examples of projects:
    • Expanding cashless payment options (e.g., optimizing QR code payments, introducing electronic money)
    • Adding online payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay
    • Introducing and managing new checkout terminals
    • Implementing and improving self-checkout solutions


    • Experience in project management, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
    • A strong curiosity for systems and processes, with the ability to dive deep into details to understand how things work
    • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English


    • Data analysis skills (ability to analyze customer and payment data to develop improvement strategies)
    • Ability to deliver results within your area of responsibility, with a strong focus on quality and speed
    • Knowledge and experience related to checkout process optimization
    • Experience in customer behavior analysis or customer experience (CX) improvement in the retail industry


    This position is part of the Customer team, which consists of 11 members. Among them, 2 members specialize in the payments area. Thanks to the compact team structure, everyone’s ideas and input are valued, and it’s easy to see the impact of your work on the team and the organization.

    You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement payment methods that meet the needs of customers in Japan. While the role involves handling a wide range of tasks, you’ll frequently experience the satisfaction of seeing your efforts take shape.     About this work area

    【Employment Status】
    - Full-time regular employee- 40 hours per week contract
    - Probation period: 6 months
    - Start date is the first day of every month (consult with us about your start date)
    - Retirement age: 65 years old
