  • At IKEA, we believe great facilities enable great experiences for our co-workers and customers. We're looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Distribution Centre (DC)/Central Distribution Centre (CDC) to create a safe, sustainable, and high-performing environment where people and operations can thrive.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued and supported to grow. If this role inspires you, we’d love to hear from you.

    Your responsibilities

As Facilities Manager for IKEA DC/CDC, you will develop and empower a diverse team, fostering collaboration, engagement and continuous improvement while ensuring the effective delivery of reliable FM services on-site across building systems and warehouse automation. Through your inclusive leadership and ability to achieve positive outcomes by working in close partnership with stakeholders you are accountable for FM governance, budgets, ISA compliance, supplier partnerships and operational performance. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Lead and develop a diverse team through coaching, mentoring, and inclusive leadership, creating an environment where people can grow and thrive.
    • Secure succession planning, capability development and training requirements for your team.
    • Build trusted stakeholder relationships, partnering across the business to understand needs and achieve shared goals through collaboration.
    • Lead the delivery of the Real Estate Long-Term Plan (RELTP) and FM budget, including planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance follow-up. Ensure alignment with ISA requirements and Ingka FM frameworks.
    • Secure property lifecycle activities such as maintenance (includes preventative), compliance, asset performance, and continuous improvement while ensuring we meet statutory and ISA requirements.
    • Build collaborative partnerships with service providers and manage supplier performance, contracts, tenders, approvals, service delivery standards and KPIs.
    • Provide FM expertise and leadership across CAPEX projects, supporting design, tendering, handover, and operational readiness.
    • Enable improvements in operational and environmental performance with a focus on energy, water, waste, and sustainability outcomes.
    • Respond to critical incidents with FM assets (fire detection, flooding, HBAC failure, power outage) and secure after-hours escalation and emergency response governance in the unit.
    • Champion the adoption of innovative property management solutions, digital tools, and technical systems that improve efficiency and support business needs.
    • Support wider Real Estate initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

You are an experienced people leader who enjoys bringing together technical expertise, collaboration, and problem-solving to achieve great outcomes in facilities management. You can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery and are passionate about creating environments where people, facilities, and businesses can perform at their best. You have experience managing facilities in complex operational environments and are comfortable working across digital tools, budgets, compliance, suppliers, warehouse operations, and automation systems. You can confidently engage stakeholders at all levels while leading teams in an inclusive and engaging way through change and continuous improvement. We are looking for:
    • Significant experience leading and developing diverse teams with a focus on fostering inclusion, engagement, wellbeing and high performance in a people-focused way.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
    • FM experience in a high-volume distribution, logistics, industrial, manufacturing, retail or similarly complex environment.
    • Experience managing external service providers, supplier relations and contracts to deliver positive operational outcomes.
    • Strong financial and analytical skills, including budget management and performance reporting.
    • Experience driving sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives across areas such as energy, water, waste, and environmental compliance.
    • Experience with warehouse automation systems or automated operational environments is valued but not essential.
    • Confidence using digital FM tools and systems; experience with Plan-on, SAP, or similar ERP platforms is beneficial.
