    Additional Information:
    • These roles are Permanent Part-time, 30hrs/fortnight
    • Applications close Wednesday 8 July 2025.
    • These roles will have a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts between 7am and 9pm across 7 days, with availability required to work three weekends out of four (both Saturday and Sunday). At least one out of four weekends will be rostered off.

    About this work area

    As an IKEA Food (Dish Room) Co-worker, your responsibilities will include
    • Processing dishes and waste safely and efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
    • Complying with strict food safety, HACCP, and quality procedures, routines, and standards.
    • Communicating effectively and working proactively together with your team to ensure a productive and inclusive kitchen environment where everyone’s input is valued.
    • Safe manual handling (lifting and repetitive movements), chemical handling, and working with the appropriate supplied protective equipment in a busy work environment where exposure to higher moisture levels and noise can be a factor.
    • Working across the kitchen and food areas as required to support the Food team with tasks like preparing food, receiving and unpacking orders, cleaning, setting up, and closing the kitchen shift.
    • Correctly processing food waste to meet IKEA’s sustainability commitments and preventing unnecessary cost, by accurately registering food waste and communicating with the food operations team about food waste prevention opportunities.



    As an IKEA Food (Dish Room) Co-worker you are or have:
    • Knowledge of HACCP and previous experience in a high-volume kitchen environment processing dishes and waste will be highly regarded.
    • Capable of safely carrying out heavy lifting, repetitive manual tasks, and handling chemicals, using the appropriate protective equipment and techniques and following all training and safety procedures.
    • An energetic and team-focused approach and positive communication as this department can become extremely busy.
    • Ability to use IT systems to record waste, update daily operational checklists, and record stock movement.
    • A commitment to sustainability and reducing the impact food waste has on the environment through your daily ways of working.
