    Additional information:
    • This role is Permanent, Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight
    • The shift times required to work will be spread between 6:00am to 10:00pm, weekdays and alternating weekends.
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates, this includes a National Police Check.
    • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a Security License and First aid & CPR Certifications.

    About this work area

    As Safety & Security Specialist your responsibilities will include:
    • Ensuring a safe and secure environment for co-workers through training, audits, inspections and follow up, and securing that relevant systems are functional and meeting requirements.
    • Supporting the development and implementation of robust, practical, and proactive WHS systems and processes, and Influencing stakeholders to drive a continuously improving WHS culture within the unit.
    • Protecting IKEA co-workers, visitors and assets from preventable loss, injury, or illness.
    • Responding calmly to emergency and critical situations, taking the lead with fire warden duties and emergency response on shift, working closely with outside agencies as required.
    • Conducting safety related training for co-workers and contractors.
    • Accountable for investigating internal and external incidents and recommending the resolution and revision of routines when necessary.
    • Analysis, reporting, and presentation of trends and causes to management other stakeholders.
    • Ensuring compliance with the IKEA Group Risk Manual, IKEA rules and guidelines, and national and local legal requirements.



    To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential:
    • Minimum Certificate IV in WHS with good understanding of WHS legislation and safety frameworks
    • Current NSW Security License, First Aid, CPR certification or the ability to obtain these.

    As a Safety & Security Specialist you are or have:
    • Strong WHS experience and knowledge of the Act.
    • Experience with risk assessments, audits, and investigations, reporting, and analysis.
    • Ability to support the development of internal safety systems and change management.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build strong relationships across teams.
    • A confident communicator who can train, engage, and influence at all levels.
    • IT systems literacy with experience handling and organising data, reporting, and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
