    What you need to know
    • One temporary (12months) full-time position available
    • 76 hours per fortnight
    • Monday to Friday, shifts between 7:00am – 3:00pm
    • The internal title for this role is: Carpenter Co-worker

    About this work area

    As Commercial handyman/ Carpenter Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Following work briefs agreed with colleagues to implement all store media, such as wall constructions, podiums, fixtures, floor laying, painting and the building of complex furniture installations.
    • Supporting to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market through securing high-quality carpentry and paintwork all throughout the store.
    • Secure high quality, simple and cost-conscious results in the execution of work by using best practises and following routines.
    • Assisting the Communication & Interior team with ad hoc tasks and to ensure the store is always in shape as new.
    • Planning and ordering materials and resources, ensuring accurate costs are sought and agreed to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
    • Always be conscious of the importance of safety while working on the shop floor and take fast action when safety is compromised.



    As a Commercial handyman/ Carpenter Co-worker you have:
    • Carpentry-related work experience.
    • Craftsmanship and carpentry competence.
    • A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home.
    • Ability to explain ideas and solutions verbally.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize own work to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed deadlines.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can meet tight deadlines while upholding quality.
    • Confident and safety-conscious when performing tasks such as painting, drilling, furniture installation and heavy lifting.
    • Ideally, prior experience in carpentry, particularly in a commercial business context.

    This role is physically active and requires a strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
