    Additional information:
    • The internal job title for this position is Unit Food Operations Manager.
    • This is a permanent, full-time role (76hrs/fortnight) based on-site at IKEA Rhodes, NSW 2138.
    • The role requires flexible availability, including a mix of day and evening shifts between 7:30am and 9:30pm.
    • You must also be available to work alternating fortnightly weekend shifts, including both Saturdays and Sundays.

    About this work area

    As Kitchen Operations Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Lead and coach the Food Operations Team in optimising and developing the IKEA Food business by securing the IKEA brand position, strategies, legal compliance, and people & planet positive in all IKEA touchpoints.
    • Support your leadership team in managing the recruitment, retention, performance management, succession planning and competence development of the team.
    • Secure processes and procedures to ensure quality of food, food safety, excellence in operations and reduce waste.
    • Implement global and national compliance standards, managing the food supply chain and range competence within the department.
    • Secure an irresistible food offer by designing menus, ensuring quality and an appealing range presentation.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, including inventory management and ordering of supplies.
    • Support and develop strategies to ensure profitability through P&L management and KPI follow up.



    As Kitchen Operations Manager you are:
    • A proven leader with extensive experience in fast-paced kitchen environments.
    • Passionate about creating unforgettable dining experiences through a deep love for food, outstanding product quality, and exceptional service delivery.
    • Customer-focused, with the ability to analyse customer insights, identify opportunities, and work collaboratively with your team to implement and carry out effective action plans.
    • A strategic leader who consistently delivers business results and supports people development through an entrepreneurial approach in a high-volume, structured environment.
    • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, confident in engaging with all levels of the organisation and managing both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret budgets, costs, and key performance indicators, and translate these into practical action plans.
    • Knowledgeable in food safety and HACCP guidelines with excellent awareness of food safety, hygiene, WHS & manual handing standards is required.
