Additional information: • This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight • Applications close Thursday 5 June, 2025 • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
About this work area
As Carpenter Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Supporting to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market through securing high-quality carpentry and paintwork all throughout the store. • Following work briefs to implement custom display solutions, including painting, tiling, floor laying, wall install, shop fixtures and the building of complex furniture installations. • Secure high quality, simple and cost-conscious results in the execution of work by using best practises and following routines. • Maintaining a high degree of cleanliness in the carpentry workshop, as well as ensuring that it is a safe work space • Managing the stock levels of carpentry supplies, including the ordering of new supplies • Assisting the Communication & Interior team with ad hoc tasks and to ensure the store is always in shape as new.
As a Carpenter Co-worker you are and/or you have: • A deep passion for quality, craftsmanship and home furnishings. • Comfortable with physical work, such as repetitive lifting and climbing ladders • A practical, hands-on mindset, where you show a strong willingness to get involved. • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can meet tight deadlines while upholding quality. • Confident and safety-conscious when performing tasks such as painting, drilling, furniture installation and heavy lifting. • Ideally, prior experience in carpentry, particularly in a commercial business context.
