Additional information:
• This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this role is Market People Planning Manager
• This role requires availability to work Monday – Sunday, shift times will range across 7:00am – 7:00pm.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
• You will work out of both IKEA Logan and IKEA North Lakes in a fortnightly roster rotation.
• You will be part of the Duty Manager roster and must be available to work every second weekend across both Queensland units.
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
About this work area
As People Planning Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Implementing all people planning strategies in accordance with the unit’s priorities, ensuring the People Planning promise, principles, and processes are adhered to as localised by Country P&C.
• Securing and monitoring adherence to IKEA's employment standards for working and scheduling, local labour law legislations, and union requirements related to People Planning.
• Acting as a business partner to all department managers on people planning topics, develop and monitor schedules, and secure time registration processes to align with the unit’s hours forecast and business priorities, while promoting co-worker empowerment.
• Proposing solutions to address planning gaps within agreed financial frames and growth potential, based on thorough analyses of scheduled and actual hours. Collaborate with unit P&C Manager and Business Navigation on business forecasts and suggested areas of opportunity.
• Implementing and optimising the use of all people planning digital systems and tools and analyse relevant people planning data and KPIs to improve efficiency.
• Consolidating budget hours, tasks catalogue, and workload drivers into workload requirements and distribute hours over time accordingly.
• Designing an optimal contract level and mix, and a People Capacity plan by analysing the current staffing structure, availability requirements, and qualification needs against future business needs.
• Identifying future people capacity gaps and initiate schedule optimisation processes.
• Reviewing all new recruitments against defined headcount, contract level, contract type, and capacity requirements to ensure co-workers create a great customer experience.
• Developing and leading education, training, and support in all people planning and timekeeping processes at the unit, continuously raising awareness and knowledge of these processes.
• Identifying and develop talent to ensure competence development and succession planning for people planning specialists by providing knowledge transfer, expertise, and training in all aspects of the people planning process.
• Reviewing the timekeeping process in the unit, follow up on timely execution and process knowledge, and ensure necessary improvements.

As People Planning Manager you have:
• A strong background in people planning, with a deep understanding of employment standards, local labour laws, and union requirements.
• An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of acting as a business partner to department managers.
• Proficiency in using digital systems and tools for people planning and have experience analysing relevant data and KPIs.
• You are proactive in identifying capacity gaps and initiating optimisation processes, with a focus on re-skilling and recruitment.
• You are committed to developing and leading education and training initiatives to enhance people planning processes.
• You have a talent for identifying and developing future leaders, ensuring competence development and succession planning.
