    The role of Customer Service Representative (Sales Generalist) supports this vision by delivering inspiring and seamless customer experiences across remote channels while driving sales growth. It focuses on understanding customer needs and offering relevant, home furnishing solutions through strong salesmanship and a customer-centric approach. By confidently guiding customers through their purchasing journey, using effective remote selling techniques and product knowledge, the role builds trust in the IKEA brand, maximises sales, and contributes to continuous improvement of the overall customer experience.

    Additional Information:
    • Position type: Permanent, part-time 60 hours per fortnight.
    • Internal job title: Sales Generalist
    • Work location: Customer Service Centre (RCMP), Tempe NSW. 
    • Working hours: availability required between 8:00am to 8:30pm (AEST) weekdays and alternating weekends (both Saturday & Sunday).


    Recruitment Process Overview:
    • Video interview: if shortlisted, you may be invited to complete a short video interview.
    • Group interview: next step is an interview with the hiring team.
    • Training: will commence on Monday 17 August, for a period of 4 weeks (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm). After that, you’ll receive your regular roster.

    As a Customer Service Representative (Inbound) your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Providing high-quality support across all remote channels (phone, webchat, email, and live video) to create meaningful customer interactions and build trust in the IKEA brand.
    • Actively driving sales by offering relevant home furnishing solutions and guiding customers through the buying journey using effective remote selling techniques.
    • Understanding customer needs and balancing them with business goals by confidently steering conversations, including cross-selling and upselling where appropriate.
    • Using digital tools and planning solutions to enhance the customer experience and maximise sales outcomes.
    • Staying up to date with IKEA products, services, and commercial priorities to effectively support and influence purchasing decisions.
    • Capturing and sharing customer insights and feedback to contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
    • Collaborating with team members and contributing to shared goals, performance targets, and a culture of togetherness.



    You are a commercially minded, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment. As a Customer Service Representative (Inbound) you have:
    • Experience in a contact centre, remote sales, or customer service environment, with exposure to inbound sales or solution-based selling is preferred.
    • Strong sales mindset, with the ability to confidently guide conversations and identify opportunities to drive sales growth.
    • Passion for home furnishing and interest in helping customers create a better life at home.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style across different channels in a friendly, clear, and professional manner.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and systems simultaneously in a dynamic digital environment.
    • Proven ability to work towards KPIs and achieve individual and team performance goals.
    • A collaborative team player who shares knowledge, insights, and contributes to a positive team culture.
