As the Graphic Design Leader for IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will play a vital role in delivering sustainable, extraordinary growth by creating a new, unique, inspiring and convenient meeting with customers. In this role, you will design graphic concepts that inform, inspire and engage consumers as an integrated part of both physical and digital retail solutions. You are a creative leader who: • Designs and implements both physical and digital graphic design concepts that showcase the IKEA visual and verbal identity • Creates visually stimulating and engaging retail experiences that inspire product discovery and purchase, add value for customers and trigger their home furnishing interest • Influences and coaches graphic design co-workers at stores through a matrix relationship to ensure communication needs during the customer experience are met, by providing relevant content, at the right place, in appealing and easy to understand formats • Measures performance of graphic design by conducting functional reviews in order to identify improvement areas, maximise efficiency and effectiveness and support competence development • Acts as a member of the Home Furnishing and Retail Design team and proactively contributes to plans and output in order to deliver to the common objectives and goals • Actively cooperates with all key stakeholders within Growth & Marketing and beyond to secure integration, common focus and to maximise impact (for example Digital, Customer Fulfilment, Business Navigation Operations and Finance, People, Sustainability & Communication) • Drives an open and sharing climate, acts as a role model of the IKEA values and contributes to the transformation of IKEA
You bring a holistic view and an eye for detail, with the ability to prioritise and make decisions with speed and simplicity. You are energised by driving business growth and contributing to overall success through creating innovative graphic design. You understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of Growth & Marketing as an integrated part of the business, and you possess good leadership capabilities including the ability to lead peers and stakeholders while communicating in an inspirational way with an IKEA tone of voice. You have the ability to follow up and measure performance of output and capture learnings to improve planning and performance moving forward.
To be considered for this role you will need to have: • Formal qualifications in Graphic Design or equivalent. You have the technical foundation and creative expertise necessary to deliver high-quality design solutions that meet professional standards. • Minimum 5 years of experience in Graphic Design and delivering results with a proven track record in creating effective design solutions and your ability to execute projects successfully from concept to completion. • Experience from retail, preferably home furnishing sector. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities of retail environments and can create designs that drive customer engagement and sales. • Experience in planning, driving output and measuring performance in a business context, with demonstrated ability to work strategically, manage projects effectively, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve design outcomes.
Additional information: • Permanent, full time, 76hrs/fortnight. • If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a national police check.
