  • Who you are

Hej! Our mission—to create a better everyday life for the many people—is constant. But how we reach them is not.

To serve and reach more of the many, we must decode the complex DNA of a market. This is a product design challenge, not just an analysis task. We are looking for a top talent product-obsessed Senior Analyst to help build the intelligence engine that guides our multi-billion dollar expansion, ensuring every new IKEA touchpoint brings our mission to life.

We believe the best analysts are systems thinkers and product builders at heart. We would be excited to talk to you if this describes you:

    - Your Technical Foundation- You have 5+ years of intensive, hands-on keyboard experience in advanced analytics, built upon a strong quantitative MSc or PhD. You have a fluent command of the tools of the trade—mastering SQL for complex data manipulation and using Python to apply the right statistical or ML method to answer the most pressing business questions.
    - How You Solve Problems - You possess a rare combination of superior analytical rigor and sharp commercial judgment. You excel at translating ambiguous business problems into a concrete analytical framework, decomposing a problem into its core drivers to find the ground truth. You are relentlessly pragmatic, using rapid "back-of-the-envelope" impact estimations to prioritize work and are adept at using simulation to run "virtual experiments" before committing resources.
    - How You Drive Product Success - You have deep, proven experience guiding a digital product's lifecycle with data. This means defining its core metrics, instrumenting user journeys, and designing/analyzing rigorous A/B experiments. You don't just build dashboards; you engineer intuitive decision systems (in Power BI, Looker, etc.) and craft the compelling, data-driven narratives that enable confident decision-making for any audience.
    - How You Scale Your Impact - you operate with a founder mindset, obsessed with scaling your impact beyond your own work. You actively partner with Data Engineers to automate and productionize your analyses, and you act as a force multiplier—taking full accountability for your domain, building trusted cross-functional relationships, and elevating the entire team's capabilities through mentorship.

This is our wish list! If you don’t recognize yourself in every one of these points, you might still be an excellent candidate for the role. We are looking for exceptional individuals and like to think long-term about investing in people’s development together with us.

The IKEA culture and values are very much a part of our business and day-to-day work life. For you to thrive and grow with IKEA, it’s important for us that you share our values! You can read more regarding our values and life at IKEA on our website www.ikea.com.

What you'll be doing day to day

As the lead analyst embedded in a digital product squad, your mission is to ensure we build powerful, intuitive, and effective tools for our expansion strategy teams in the markets. You will be the analytical voice of the user and the data-driven conscience of the product.

    This means you will:
    • Be the analytical voice of the user: Combine deep-dive market analysis (e.g., what drives store performance) with analysis of user behavior within your product to identify the most valuable opportunities for new product features and improvements.
    • Instrument, measure, and optimize the product: Heavily contribute to defining the product's key results (OKRs), instrument the user journey, and own the core dashboards that measure success. You will design and analyze the A/B experiments that guide the product's evolution.
    • Design the analytical engine of the product: Partner with data engineers within Expansion and other teams to build and productionize the foundational datasets (geospatial, competitor, demographic, store layouts, etc). Together with the rest of the Data & Machine Learning Expansion team, you will design the interactive visualizations, simulation tools, and diagnostic features that are the core of the user experience.
    • Guide the product roadmap with data: You will be a key partner to the Product Owner, using data to identify user pain points, validate hypotheses, and build the business case for new development epics.

    Our team within IKEA

You will work in Data & Analytics together with other highly talented Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Stewards and Data Architects. Together you will be joining cross-functional teams consisting of colleagues from Technology, Product and Design from Expansion. All of you together will be creating the best solutions that will enable IKEA to reach more of the many customers.

The home office for this role will be Madrid within our Digital Hub, but we act as one global team and work together on global solutions.

    WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
    • An intellectually stimulating, diverse and open atmosphere, working on really interesting and often surprisingly hard problems as described above and where you can be yourself
    • The opportunity to collaborate with a team of highly talented colleagues to learn with and from (with world-class experience across all aspects of Data & Analytics) along with other exceptional colleagues from product owners to product engineers or designers. Moreover, you are encouraged to collaborate with other Data & Analytics colleagues in other specialist teams
    • The opportunity to create real and measurable global impact by participating in the definition, growth and performance optimization of Ikea for Business. Most things remain to be done so it’s the perfect time to join.
    • Flexible and modern tools: we deploy on Google Cloud Platform and we use a lot of open-source tools across the board
    • Hardware and Operating System your choice
    • Continuous learning (we aim to spend 20% of our working time on learning)
    • Flexible and friendly working environment in a truly value-based company
