  • Why we will love you

Have you heard of the IKEA second-hand marketplace (IKEA preowned)? Do you want to shape a future where second-hand is not a side story, but a core part of how IKEA grows and meets the many people? We’re looking for you.

We are building a trusted, seamless, and scalable platform for second-hand IKEA products and home improvement services— and we’re now looking for Business Developers to help us operate and grow it as an integrated part of the IKEA ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of the marketplace businesses, working cross-functionally to drive growth, improve platform performance, and develop new features, services, and user experiences that deliver clear customer and business value.

If you're driven by impact, commercial results, and customer centric, and want to make the marketplace business as extension of the IKEA’s omnichannel offer, this is your moment.

To be successful in this role, we believe you:

    - Bring strong experience running, improving and developing business, services, features, and user experience in home furnishing e-commerce, product marketplaces and platform business.

    - Enjoy working cross-functionally and driving operation, improvement and development in collaboration with product owners, tech, data & machine learning specialists, UX designers & researchers, and subject matter experts (legal, business networks, customer support, marketing, etc.).

    - Use data, customer insights and P&L to inform decisions and measure business impact.

    - Have excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills, capable of driving progress and alignment across teams.

    - Are entrepreneurial and innovative, thriving in test-and-learn environments with a growth mindset.

    - Understand home furnishing omnichannel behaviors and know how to engage sellers, buyers, and partners across touchpoints.

    Your responsibilities

    You will be responsible for:

    - Drive marketplace growth and profitability by operating, improving and developing the business model, offer, revenues models, and user experience — optimizing for strong engagement, trust, liquidity, commercial and profitability performance across different maturity life stages.

    - Lead cross-functional squads from the business side, partnering with product, tech, data, UX, and marketing to identify opportunities, shape and deliver high-impact solutions / initiatives and ensure the follow-up to deliver objectives/goals.

    - Define, own and act on key KPIs, including engagement, retention, and conversion metrics — using insights to identify opportunities, steer priorities, and track business - P&L impact.

    - Champion users experience, owning end-to-end journeys and ensuring continuous user improvement and optimisation through research, testing and iterating.

    - Engage internal and external stakeholders, including markets and subject matter experts, to gather inputs, validate assumptions, verify solutions and drive adoption. Support the deployment teams with readiness, learning, and communication activities to ensure smooth implementation of the new features, and services in the countries.

    - Share learnings and best practices across teams and functions to contribute to the broader commercial and operational health of the platform.
