We are on a journey within the Category Energy, Waste and Water to not only ensure that operations are running today but also looking ahead towards the future in how our supplier base can help Ingka develop and innovate new solutions. We’re looking for a Category Leader to lead that journey and is not afraid of thinking differently, combined with a strong business mind-set and solution-driven approach to join our Category Energy, Waste and Water.
To succeed in this role, we foresee that you bring:
• Good knowledge of IKEA our vision, business model, the strategic landscape and IKEA ways of working
• Deep understanding and experience of procurement/sourcing including knowledge of the waste industry and experience from supplier management and development
• Ability to lead the business by developing and communicating category strategies with a holistic view and translating long-term priorities into clearly defined action plans, always with the total IKEA in mind.
• Capability of building trustful relationships, to create preconditions for building long-term business partnerships
• Capable of performing business opportunity analysis, risk assessment, scenario planning and of drawing conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations
Your responsibilities
The Category Leader will lead, steer and develop the sourcing agenda and ensure the delivery to the total needs of the business striving for volume and economies of scale, either across categories in a geographical region or a category segment on a global scale.
• Drive business performance and results by building and maintaining trustful relationships with key business owners and stakeholders.
• Lead and ensure the implementation of Category Plans by developing and executing relevant action plans in the category and analyze business needs to identify and lower unnecessary costs.
• Manage and develop the supplier base in scope of responsibility to secure performance, cost optimization and cost reduction.
• Continuously monitor the supplier market to create conditions to find new business opportunities and explore the innovation potential for the category.
• Secure cross-organizational readiness and continued business growth in terms of competence, performance and succession through enabling an end-to-end approach.
About this work area
Category Area Real Estate is responsible for procurement of all products and services related to Facility Services, Energy, Waste, Water, Construction & Fit Out, Logistic & Equipment solutions across Ingka group.
We act on Ingka’s needs in close collaboration with Retail, Centers, Real Estate, Expansion, CFF and Sustainability, to name a few. We focus to enable low-cost expansion, climate positive transformation, the omnichannel transformation while at the same time shortening the time to market and bringing in supplier capabilities for efficiency and innovation.
We are organized into 4 categories with a global organization in 10 clusters (+ 1).
