Our team within IKEA
Can you imagine? IKEA started as a small mail-order company in Älmhult, a rural village in Sweden. Today, we are in 63 countries with a unique range of products. Working at IKEA means working in a world of ideas, described by our colleagues as a place where everyone is welcome and you can be yourself. We make a difference for as many people and the planet as possible. It’s also a place where you can shape your career and where there is plenty of room for your practical creativity and ideas. All this while working in a great team with colleagues who are always there for you and ready to help when needed.
You will be part of the Sustainability team and will be engaging with colleagues from almost all areas of the company. You will work closely with the Project Lead and Sustainability Business Partners.
At IKEA, we believe it’s important that you can be yourself. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving abilities – the focus of your work should be on how to do it, rather than questioning if it is possible or feasible to do it. Being able to work with uncertainty is crucial, this means that you have excellent communication skills, creativity, as well as an adaptable and collaborative mindset. Most importantly, you are highly motivated to work in sustainability where a complex environment with lots of moving pieces is prevalent.
What else you need:
• Understanding of circular economy concepts and the ability to connect them with tangible business models and practices.
• Familiarity with innovation methodologies (e.g. Design thinking), processes (e.g. ideation, prototyping, testing), and tools (e.g. Miro).
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform project decisions and measure progress or impact.
• Skills in planning, organizing, and managing tasks to ensure timely and successful project execution.
