    • Experience of taking commercial decisions based on local market information
    • Experience of working in a customer-focused service industry
    • Experience of setting and implementing action plans, setting budgets and following up goals
    • Interest in home furnishing as well as a curiosity about people’s life at home
    • Interest in what is happening in the local market, and an ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions
    • Ability to engage a receiver by creating a passion for your plans
    • Compelling communicator both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to set expectations and provide clear direction
    • Ability to prioritise and organise own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available
    • Understand profit and loss and how to affect its result through their actions
    • Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
    • Good analytical and numerical skills
    • Minimum 3 years of people management experience, preferably in the omni-channel retail industry.

    Your responsibilities

    Consumer/Customer
    • Take ownership for the knowledge and understand our local market, demographics, economy, competitors, consumers’ living situations and shopping behaviours. Ensure use these insights to create a store marketing action plan, including a relevant distribution strategy in order to strengthen our position on the local market and build long-term sales growth and profitability.
    • Work with store colleagues to ensure that we communicate our total offer in all external media, online and offline, to generate traffic to our store and thereby establishing us as the leader in life at home in our local market.
    • Identify our consumers home furnishing needs by understanding their aspirations, frustrations and priorities.
    • Promote the IKEA offer so that it is attractive, relevant and affordable for the many people, leading to a broadening of our local customer base.
    • Grow our core customer base and convert more visitors into loyal customers using the IKEA FAMILY and IKEA BUSINESS concepts.
    • Promote IKEA as the good neighbour by working actively with the local communities and nationally identified charitable organisations.
    • Actively promote our social and environmental commitment and work with our local consumers’ to understand how, together, we can contribute to sustainability.

    Commercial / Financial
    • To increase the number of consumers visiting/revisiting our store as well as convert more visitors into customers in order to increase sales and profitability. Goal is to expand our local home furnishing market share.
    • Taking the national communications/media strategy and store business plan and developing a local store marketing action plan, aimed at optimising the business opportunities within my Market.
    • Agreeing and following up on challenging goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These are based on the volume of store visits, conversion of visitors to customers and the positioning of IKEA in our local market.
    • Working with the store team to create a commercial calendar for our store based on national priorities and local potential in order to achieve our goals and KPIs.
    • Understanding how different consumer groups within our Market use different media so that I can target our communication more accurately to optimise its effectiveness.
    • Ensuring the strength of each local media channel is maximised and that the total media mix is seamlessly integrated to create one consistent message in our local market.
    • Networking with the national marketing team and my colleagues in other stores to share good ideas and successes and learn from what has worked and what has not.
    • Using our customers’ feedback, IKEA FAMILY database information, store performance and other research data to understand and develop the business potential in our Market.
    • Analysing the results of our local communication activities and using this knowledge to maximise the impact of IKEA in our local market in the most cost-effective way possible.

    People
    • Help to create a store environment where the IKEA culture is strong and where the diversity of our customers and co-workers is valued.
    • Secure the training of our store team to ensure they are well-informed about the composition of our Market and the impact any changes may have on our future business in order to identify commercial opportunities in our market.
    • Create an environment of trust by encouraging open, constructive, honest, two-way feedback with my store team and other colleagues.
