  • Who you are
We are looking for a People & Culture Generalist who is outgoing, down-to-earth, and a dedicated self-starter. You are passionate about working with people and believe in the value of co-creation. You are driven by achieving results through supporting managers in various situations and excel at translating strategies and needs into actions that create value for both the business and its people.

You thrive in a dynamic work environment and love being on the floor with our amazing leaders and employees, not just behind a computer screen. To succeed in this role, we believe you have a proven track record in developing people and businesses, as well as experience as an HR partner or leader.

Additionally, we would like you to have:
    • Knowledge and a solid understanding of HR-related topics such as onboarding, performance management, personnel costs, workforce planning, succession planning, and collective agreements.
    • Experience advising managers and supporting change processes.
    • Experience from and an understanding of the retail or service industry.
    • A goal-oriented, independent approach, taking initiative naturally while prioritizing your work and delivering results. You also understand that results are best achieved through collaboration.
    • A curious, flexible, and proactive mindset, with a desire to work in a constantly evolving environment.
    • Strong relationship-building skills based on trust.
    • Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English, with the ability to convey complex messages simply and clearly.
What you'll be doing day to day
As a People & Culture Generalist, your role is to translate business needs into concrete initiatives in close collaboration with managers. You will be responsible for your departments, supporting managers in their development and advising them on all employment-related matters—from recruitment to offboarding. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving the annual HR cycle, including employee satisfaction surveys and development conversations.

Your tasks will be diverse, and you can expect to:
    • Ensure that all employees have proper working conditions and that operations comply with relevant guidelines, procedures, and applicable legislation. This includes supporting managers with professional guidance on labor law and collective agreement matters.
    • Support the development of business competencies and performance.
    • Assist managers in fostering engagement and employee retention through a strong understanding of employee needs.
    • Implement health and well-being initiatives.
    • Ensure consistent employee communication that aligns with IKEA’s culture, values, and brand.
    • Support managers in conflict resolution and facilitate processes. Over time, you may also have the opportunity to coach managers.
    Together as a Team
As a People & Culture Generalist at Market CDC, you will be part of a dedicated team that also includes a Unit People Planner and a Unit People & Culture Manager.

Market CDC is the engine behind the scenes, ensuring that IKEA’s products reach as many people as possible. Our team consists of skilled employees who use their expertise in the supply chain to balance assortment, inventory, and orders. The goal is to ensure high product availability for customers while optimizing costs. If you’ve ever wondered who finds the most efficient ways to pick and pack goods for customers, that’s us! Every day, we work to create an even better customer experience at IKEA.
