Job description
As the Platform Engineer Leader (M3 Food), you will be responsible for all integrations/extractions in & out of our M3 cloud landscape. This is a team effort, and you are at your best, guiding the experts (In-house as well as externals) to a simple & robust Integration architecture, that sticks to standard without compromising the high degree of automation and specialization in our global value chain.
In a dual assignment you’ll also be responsible to shape overall Integration approach regarding our strategic platforms (e.g. IFood, Icollect, Item Hub, Readsoft, Transporeon, TrueCommerce, Trax), defining the role of a Data Service Layer, identifying synergies towards our Enterprise Integration framework, but also embracing the distinct uniqueness of the respective Platforms.
The Platform Engineer Leader M3 will work as a technical advisor for internal customers, product teams, as well as external stakeholders. You will be accountable for the Design, Implementation, Operations and Monitoring of all integrations, with full ownership of our M3 Integration Layer.
More specifically, in this role you will (be):
- Accountable for the Design, Implementation, Operations and Monitoring of all integrations Data Service Layer., (M3 Application Interface Framework, Cloud Integration, and API Management).
- Develop & Coach Integration team members onsite & offshore, defining and securing the needed capacity and competence to ensure high availability and reliability of all integrations
- Responsible for the M3 Integration Strategy & Roadmap, continuously building on the synergies between the various components, while also anchoring the direction for the future
- Guide & assist in defining integration patterns following our principle. Partner with service providers and IT functions.
- Monitor, analyse, and identify trends for system performance and resource utilization, with a cost-conscious mindset.
- Partnering closely with Product Teams and Software Engineers to solve sophisticated problems.
- Project Management for Integrations related projects
Qualification

On this journey we’re doing some amazing things in the IKEA Food Supply Chain; therefore, we need some amazing people – this position is not an exception.
To be successful in this role, we believe you are a deep techno-functional expertise, able to inspire and mobilize people towards clearly set objectives. We are looking for a visionary, pragmatic, and adaptable leader, that isn’t above rolling up the sleeves, showcasing their Integration knowledge, leading by example. You are curious and able to build relationships build on trust between the Supply Data & Technology community and its stakeholders.
We expect you to have at least 8+ years of experience in designing integrations for major platforms. Experience with managing the M3 Technology Program on Cloud, having strong expertise in MEC/ION would be ideal. You are analytical and have a particular eye for details, still being able to relate to the bigger context, building a quick and effective work rapport with distributed team members.
You are highly motivated and effective in communicating, able to present even complex technology challenges in an understandable fashion to stakeholders, getting commitment all around.
In this role you will report to our M3 Food Platform Manager within Supply Data & Technology.
