Additional Information: • These roles are Permanent Part-time, contract sizes ranging from 30-50hrs/fortnight • The Hiring Manager for this role is Nicholas Vanderzijpp - Shopkeeper • Applications close Thursday 5th May 2025 • Availability requirements for these roles range between the hours of 8:00am-9:30pm, weekdays and weekends. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
About this work area
As Sales Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Engaging and assist customers in understanding their needs and providing your knowledge on IKEA products and services to support their purchasing decisions. • Actively participating in selling products with a positive attitude and contribute to business goals and growth. • Maintaining a clean and organised sales area, ensuring all products are properly priced and fully stocked. • Building strong relationships with your team and other departments to promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment. • Assembling displays for the introduction of new products.
We are looking for co-workers in the following areas: Markethall - Textiles, Cookshop & Lighting • Being an expert and passionate about the IKEA product range; and actively learning about their features and benefits. • Replenishing and condensing stock levels throughout your shift and ensuring your area of responsibility is always well-stocked, correctly priced/labelled, and presentable. • Comfortable with on-the-job physical activity such as lifting, pushing/pulling, sliding/transferring of stock (rugs) which vary in size and weight.
Self Serve Furniture Area - Warehouse • Using inventory systems to ensure stock inventory is correct and up to date, ensure the Self Serve warehouse is always well-stocked, tidy and presentable. • Condensing stock, including unloading pallets and cutting boxes open to restock appropriate products and recycling of cardboard. • Assisting customers with loading flatpacks or products onto their flatbed trolleys when required.
As Sales Co-worker you are or have: • Passionate about home furnishings and appreciator of quality focusing on maintaining a high level of product knowledge and sharing the IKEA product range with customers. • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with others, you can understand the customer's needs and the ability to build strong relationships. • An authentic approach in generating sales, whilst maintaining a professional, self-motivated attitude towards meeting sales targets and KPIs. • Clear and concise communication skills, a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills. • A ‘Togetherness’ mindset with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment. • Proficient computer skills and an ability to learn about all technical aspects of the IKEA product range and tools. • A safe mindset and being comfortable with physical work and manual handling including repetitive movements and lifting.
