    Additional Information
    • This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight
    • This role is eligible for domestic and international relocation
    • The shift times are between 08:00am to 9:30pm, weekdays and alternating fortnightly weekend shifts (both Saturday & Sunday).
    • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check, including a National Police Check for final candidates.

    About this work area

    As Sales Department Manager (Shopkeeper) your responsibilities will include:
    • Optimising sales and profitability of the home furnishing departments in your area of responsibility by taking full ownership of the range and activating the IKEA commercial priorities.
    • Developing a deep knowledge of the range, and a strong understanding of our customers, the local market and trends, acting quickly on commercial opportunities and customer feedback.
    • Working side by side with your team on the shop floor, mentoring, coaching, and building competence with a commitment to building succession and supporting their development
    • Embedding the IKEA Concept and maintaining highly commercial, inspiring, and visually appealing departments where customers always find it easy to shop.
    • Connecting the wider IKEA strategies to your team’s contribution to actively build a high-performance culture, empowering your team to create value for our customers.
    • Managing accurate range forecasting, sales steering, and quickly adjusting when needed to meet volume commitments.



    To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential:
    • A minimum of three years of leadership experience within a high-volume commercial environment (Department or Store Manager, Key Account Manager, B2B or B2C Sales Leader or similar), with ability to demonstrate a successful track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
    • Experience building a high performing team, leading performance, development, competence building, and securing succession for leadership/specialist roles.

    Who you are
    As Sales Department Manager (Shopkeeper) you are or have:
    • Experience delivering a commercial activity plan and sustaining long-term growth within an omnichannel retail landscape.
    • Strong interest in home furnishings with the proven ability to gain a deep understanding of the local home furnishing market and your range in order to maximise selling opportunities.
    • Experience building a high performing team and securing succession. You resonate with the IKEA values and lead by example, supporting and developing your team with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functions and communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
    • Adaptability and experience leading and embedding change.
    • You communicate in an inclusive, inspiring, and straightforward way and treat others as equals while being able to influence with your knowledge and perspective.
    • A senior level of leadership capability with experience leading the business through your people and together making things happen with flexibility, simplicity, and speed.
    • Proven experience delivering and implementing short- and long-term action plans and consistently reaching performance goals.
