What you need to know
• This role is permanent full-time, 76hrs/fortnight based at IKEA Tempe, NSW. • The shift times required to work will be spread between 08:00am to 10:00pm, weekdays and alternating fortnightly weekend shifts (both Saturday & Sunday).
About this work area
As Shopkeeper your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Ensure you have the right number of competent co-workers in the right place at the right time and securing that they are fully able and available to serve customers and actively help them to buy. • Ensure the shop is in excellent shape as new and fully and efficiently stocked with the four merchandising basics in place at all times and that the IKEA product range is presented in ways that inspire and satisfy customers. • Ensure your team has all the correct knowledge about the product range in your department and the IKEA services so that they can share this with IKEA customers to improve their overall shopping experience. • Understand the different IKEA sales and communication channels and IKEA know-how in order to make the best commercial use of this information for different customers. • Take responsibility for your department goals and secure that your action plan ensures the country priorities for your Home Furnishing Business (HFB) are implemented in your store.
As Shopkeeper you are or have: • Proven experience delivering and implementing short- and long-term action plans and consistently reaching performance goals. • Experience delivering a commercial action plan for your market, maximising sales and sustaining long-term profitability within an omnichannel retail landscape. • A considered decision-maker with the aptitude to collaborate across functions, as well as to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the business. • Ability to coach and develop people and secure succession to bring together a high performing team that can contribute to business goals.
What you'll need to have
To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential: • 3 years’ experience as a senior Sales Department Manager, Shopkeeper, or equivalent role. with proven achievements (Business, Customer and People KPIs). • Experience of setting and implementing action plans, budgets and following up goals, in a large, volume-driven, customer-focused & results-driven business. • Experience of taking commercial decisions based on local market information & understand the cause & effect of these decisions.
