Who you are
As Warehouse Team Leader, you are or have: • Proven experience (3+ years) in warehouse management, preferably in distribution, big box or high-volume retail environment. • Previous experience (3+ years minimum) demonstrating strong leadership skills and the initiative to coach large and diverse teams, ranging from 15 to 20 direct reports. • Proven experience delivering business results, developing people, and building effective stakeholder relationships in a high-volume, structured environment. • Thorough understanding of standard operating procedures and safe working requirements for fulfilment, with demonstrated experience leading safety culture. • Competence in resource planning aligned with changing sales forecasts, and fulfilment flow allocation to ensure a productive workflow. • Strong communication and leadership, with a demonstrated capacity to lead large teams, set clear priorities, delegate tasks effectively, provide constructive feedback when managing performance. • An authentic and entrepreneurial approach to leadership with a high level of integrity. About this work area
As Warehouse Team Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Managing and supporting the day-to-day operations, activities and co-workers of the Fulfilment Operations team including rostering, breaks, and ensuring KPIs are communicated and achieved. • Lead the Fulfilment Operations Co-workers in the assigned area of responsibility to secure the highest goods availability, operational readiness always at the lowest possible cost. • Take direct lead with identifying, recruiting, retaining, and developing the many talents in the Fulfilment Operations team, to secure a diverse, high performing team that can execute its assigned responsibilities with confidence and secure succession readiness. • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment throughout the store and secure that the Fulfilment Operations Co-workers work in compliance with IKEA Code of Conduct, internal IKEA regulations and local legislation related to health, safety, security, and the environment. • Continuous improvement and securing effective, qualitative, and efficient daily Fulfilment Operations to guarantee a positive customer shopping experience through quality of products, merchandising and stock accuracy. • Create co-worker quality awareness to prevent damages, drive the implementation of projects, and analyse existing workload to secure daily volume handling and meet operational excellence.
What you need to know
• This role is permanent, full-time. • The internal role title is Fulfilment Operations Team Leader • The required start date for this role is 2nd November. • We’re hiring for two roles: • Fulfilment Inbound • Fulfilment Outbound • You’ll work on a rotating roster, including day, evening, and alternating weekends, as our store operates 7 days a week. • A leave blackout applies during December and January due to our store opening—no leave will be approved during this period. • Work locations include IKEA Sylvia Park and our External Warehouse in Māngere. • Car parking will not be provided and therefore IKEA encourages all co-workers to utilise public transportation wherever possible. • Final candidates will undergo a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) police check. • If successful, you may need to obtain a Forklift Operator’s Certificate (OSH Certificate). • IKEA is a non-smoking workplace.
