Product Development Engineer - RA Cooking & Eating

To cook and eat together is for many a way to share, not only a meal, but also to hang out together, share stories, traditions, discussions, and opinions. It’s a social activity, full of life and energy. Our goal is to support the many people in their everyday cooking and eating activities and deliver a wide range of products, designed for both cooking healthy in a sustainable way, and enjoying eating them together. 

We are a team of about 60 colleagues who work across the Cooking & Eating business. Together we focus on developing an excellent cooking & eating offer to enable a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable life around food. For the many people and always with the low price in mind. 

We are now looking for a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to lead the engineering agenda in our “Lingon” development team responsible of IKEA food storage range. 

As a PDE in our Range Area, you will plan and lead the engineering agenda together with our engineering specialists and development team members from range, supply chain, and commercial functions. You will build and strengthen networks with numerous stakeholders throughout the value chain to collaboratively tackle various business challenges. Naturally, a major part of your role will be the development of new products and taking care of them throughout their entire life cycle. You will be part of a team of down-to-earth people with a passion for home furnishing who want to make a difference for business, people, and the planet. 

Qualifications

We are looking for a product development engineer who has: 

• Experience in product and business development 

• Overview and good understanding of IKEAs total value chain 

• Experience in leading teams, projects, or topics with a focus on stakeholder management 

• Good understanding of our approach to circularity and the climate agenda 

• Ability to work in an international context, fluent in English, both spoken and written 

• A mindset of "impossible is nothing" and a belief that together we can change the world 

Additional information 

This position is a permanent position based in Älmhult, Sweden. 

Älmhult has commuting possibilities with hourly trains from Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day. 

We offer a flexibility working from home but believe that your presence with your collegues is important why we expect you to work the majority of your time at the office.
