As a Sales Team Leader in our Bedrooms department at IKEA Tempe, you’ll lead with a passion for creating a great customer experience. Additional information: • This role is Permanent, Full-time 76hrs/fortnight based onsite at IKEA Tempe, NSW 2044. • The role requires flexible availability, including a mix of day and evening shifts between 8:00am and 10:00pm. • You must also be available to work alternating fortnightly weekend shifts, including both Saturdays and Sundays.

As Sales Team Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Leading a high-performing sales team to deliver a consistent, welcoming, and knowledgeable customer experience in line with our values. • Driving sales and profitability by analysing customer behaviour, local market trends, and competitor activity, and taking commercial actions that deliver results. • Ensuring the store is always well-stocked, clean, and presented in an inspiring way that makes it easy for customers to shop and brings the IKEA range to life. • Supporting your team’s development through regular coaching, clear goal setting, and performance conversations to foster a strong pipeline of future leaders. • Taking responsibility along with the Shopkeeper, on succession planning and building team capability by encouraging learning, curiosity, and personal growth. • Using data to proactively identify areas for improvement and implement actions that enhance both the customer and co-worker experience.
As Sales Team Leader you are: • An experienced people leader with at least 2 years in a leadership role within retail, ideally in a similar home furnishing/ fast-paced retail environment. • Passionate about life at home and driven to help customers create better everyday living through inspiring solutions and knowledgeable advice. • Proven experience leading high-performing teams – you set clear expectations, coach for success, and focus on developing talent and building a strong pipeline for the future. • A strong communicator who can engage, influence, and build trust at all levels of the business – using your skills to drive sales and connect with both customers and co-workers. • Commercially minded – you understand the local market and use data and insights to make informed decisions that drive sales and improve the customer experience. • Detail-oriented and accountable – you ensure high standards are met across the customer journey, from range presentation to stock accuracy and team performance.
